Profile of Principal: Deirdre Black



Deirdre grew up in Melbourne and studied at Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC).

After MLC Deirdre completed her tertiary education at both the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree with honours at The University of Melbourne
    • Diploma of Education
    • Masters of Arts degree from La Trobe University
    • Bachelor of Laws degree and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria and a Barrister and Solicitor
  • Masters of Law (Family Law), College of Law.

A member of the Law Institute of Victoria she works in Family Law and Intellectual Property. In addition to legal practice she has worked as a journalist, university lecturer and researcher.

Apart from law she is a keen athlete (running), oil painter and enjoys playing the guitar.
